Aurora Vernita Dingus, my mother's mother, on the occasion of her christening, 1910, Taft, OK |

Routine parental adornment of Aurora, 1911, Taft, OK |
The top photo is the christening photo of my maternal grandmother, Aurora Vernita Dingus, born on April 3, 1910 in Langston,
Oklahoma. She was, as her name represents, the "Goddess of the Dawn" (maybe not every day).
The second photo is of (Maude) Electa and James Andrew Dingus with baby Aurora in the middle. We called our grandmother
Roro and later understood that her sister, Electa, originally called her by that name in an effort to pronounce Auroroa.
The third photo is of James Andrew Dingus, Sr. and Jr. in either Taft or Langston. I will confirm the location
before this site officially opens.
Forgive the lapse in sequence because the next picture is of Grandmother Winston (because that was her last name when
we were growing up) Electa, born in December of 1915 with "Dear", as he was called by his family, Dingus and Ro.
The bottom photograph is of James Jr., born in 1921, Warren Winston, born in 1925 and William Vincent "Bill", born in
1929 on the farm at Taft, Oklahoma.
