William P Brown born in 1879 in Jeff City, MO, son of James G & Henrietta Guy

This page, the children of Pharoah and Florence Amelia Brown Longdon, all born in Jefferson City, Missouri with the exception of my great grandmother who was born in the Lett Settlement in Meigs Township, Ohio when Florence returned to her birthplace to teach at one of the schools there.  Th photographs include  (from top to bottom)Frederick Louis Longdon, the youngest  (b. 1888-d. 1905 from injuries sustained from a horse falling on him), (Maude, 1st name not used as an adult) Electa Longdon (later Dingus and Winston) forn December 5, 1885 and died December 1977.  There are two photographs of her.  The first is in her 1st or 2nd year of college around 1902 and the second is her Langston graduation photo with a music medal on her blouse.  Her principal instrument was violin and her secondary instruments, jointly, were piano and organ.

Zelia Arintha Longdon (later Sexton), who was named after Inman Page's wife and family friend, Zelia Breaux, was born in 1883 and attended Lincoln Institute in Jeff City and Langston Normal and Agricultural School. She died of breast cancer in the early 1930's in Cushing, Oklahoma where she lived with her husband James and sons E.O. and Hessup Sexton.  E.O. was later called Earl Oscar when his school would not permit him to register with two initials instead of a full name.  E.O. was his full name.

Estella Ann Longdon (later Cristopher and Evans) is the last photo.  Aunt Stella had no children but was a devoted aunt to her sister's children, especially after Zelia died and E.O and Hessup became her children by default.  They did not live with her but deferred to her maternally until their adulthood.  Aunt Stella died in Jefferson City in 1964.
